Strengthening Families™ was developed as a framework for providers to use as they help families grow stronger, especially those who are struggling to respond to their children’s needs. The approach seeks to reduce the likelihood of child abuse and neglect by supporting the following strengths in families:

1. Parental Resilience
2. Social Connections
3. Knowledge of Parenting and Child Development
4. Concrete Support in Times of Need
5. Children’s Social and Emotional Competence
