Home Visitors Alliance
The Alaska Home Visitors Alliance (HVA) is a network of home visitors from all home visiting models across Alaska who meet to connect with one another, participate in professional development, brainstorm resources, and encourage each other through the daily work of supporting children and families. We gather as a dedicated community, united by our commitment to early childhood development and family support.
In a state as vast and uniquely beautiful as Alaska, where communities are separated by rugged mountains, wide rivers, and hundreds of miles of wilderness, connection is everything. While many services require Alaskans to travel to a clinic or an office, our home visitors do the opposite: they go directly to the families. Navigating deep snow, remote communities, and unpredictable weather by truck, bush plane, or snow machine, they serve as the vital bridge between isolation and support.
Whether serving as a nurse, educator, therapist, or social worker, every home visitor is essential. By meeting families in their most vulnerable spaces, they provide the confidence, discovery, and stability needed to help children meet their milestones. Together, the participants of the HVA collaborate, innovate, and empower one another. The heroic dedication of these home visitors ripples through generations, building a healthier Alaska, one home at a time.
The Alaska Home Visitors Alliance is co-facilitated in positive partnership with the All Alaska Pediatric Partnership and the State of Alaska Division of Public Health Section of Women’s, Children, and Family Health.
